Scott has practiced corporate and commercial litigation in Simcoe County since his call to the Bar in 2000. His practice focuses on providing litigation advice and representation with respect to commercial issues, business and property disputes, and insurance defence of property and construction claims.
Scott’s primary areas of practice include construction litigation, contractual disputes, mortgage enforcement, creditors’ rights and remedies, shareholders’ rights and remedies and commercial lease disputes. Throughout his career, Scott has used mediations, arbitrations and med-arb’s to bring many disputes to a settlement or arbitral decision.
Scott is a proponent of using ADR to bring appropriate matters to a suitable conclusion, based on a process and timeline that is determined amongst the parties. Scott is available to assist parties with the mediation or arbitration of commercial disputes in a timely and cost effective manner.
